At Mission Control HQ we are frequently asked about certain aspects of our Products and Services. Here are the most common questions.

How do your products leave a protective barrier against re-infection with no chemicals?

Ordinarily, when an untreated surface is touched by an infected individual, the bacteria is left on that surface ready to infect the next person that touches that same surface. This is how many diseases are transmitted.
Our unique Nuke™ formulation works in combination with other natural ingredients, to bond to the surface and then attack the bacterial cell membrane of any form of bacteria that comes in contact with it, rupturing the membrane itself and thus destroying the cell.

How do your products help to prevent Super bugs?

Chemical based products tend to have an instant effect on the surface, killing everything and then quickly dissipating to become ineffective. As they are in the process of breaking down, they leech remnants of themselves which, when exposed to renewed levels of bacteria, gives that bacteria a chance to become resistant to it.

Because Mission Control products use a physical action to destroy the cell, not a chemical reaction, the bacteria cannot develop immunity to it and evolve into ‘Superbugs’.

What tests have been conducted on your products?

It is difficult to release full test results without also revealing the secret to our formulation and blending processes. Therefore we will release more detailed data once our patent has been approved. In the meantime, please visit our test results page, to see a summary of what organisms our ingredients and final formulation have been tested against and how they compare against Triclosan and Silver based products.

What is your 'Fair Go' policy?

When we state that our products leave protective barriers that range from 8 hours for our hand sanitisers and up to 3 months for our mould treatment and room fogging agents, we mean that such results are possible if our products are used in accordance with their instructions and under normal everyday conditions.

For example, if bleach is applied to the surface at any point after application, it will dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the product concerned.

Fair Go Conditions

 

For our products to be able to provide their relative stated periods of protection against bacteria, mould and/or odours, they need to be used in accordance with their instructions and under normal everyday conditions. See below for some examples of what can be considered ‘unfair’ conditions that may affect the performance of each product.

'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of Nuke™ ProClean

Nuke™ ProClean offers up to 14 Days protection against bacteria, germs and the growth of new mould. For this level of protection to occur, the surface should be wiped clean of any excessive build up of contaminants and then be sprayed with Nuke™ ProClean and used as the sole cleaning product. Once the surface is clean, simply wipe over with a clean, damp cloth and allow to dry. The dryer the surface becomes, the stronger the bond of the antibacterial properties.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Excessive dilution of the product prior to use, or excessive levels of water used when wiping the surface after application, e.g. use of a wet cloth, rather than a damp one.
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach at any time between applications of the product.
  • The application of pesticides directly to the surface.
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control or higher than normal presence of heat or moisture.
'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of Nuke™ HVAC Clean

Nuke™ HVAC Clean offers up to 30 Days protection against bacteria, germs and the growth of mould. For this level of protection to occur, the coils, filters, barrel fan and as much of the internal surfaces of the air conditioner as possible should be brushed, wiped or vacuumed clean of any excessive build up of contaminants and then be sprayed with Nuke™ HVAC Clean as the sole cleaning product and allowed to sit for 2 – 3 minutes before rinsing with A/C cleaning equipment. For optimum results, steam clean with our Mission Control™ Aerial Delivery System equipment. Before during the aircon back on, make sure all surfaces are dry. The dryer the surface is, the stronger the bond of the antibacterial properties.

Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect should then be sprayed onto the Coil, Filters, Fan and as much of the internals as possible and left to dry, not rinsed off.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Excessive dilution of the product prior to use, or excessive levels of water used when rinsing the surface after application, e.g. use of high pressure washers rather than the recommended medium pressure washers or the Mission Control™ Aerial Delivery System steam equipment, (which has been specially modified for this purpose).
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Direct application of pesticides or other anti-fungal or anti-bacterial products, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control or higher than normal presence of heat, (above 40° C), or moisture.
'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect

Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect offers up to 30 days protection against bacteria, mould and odours.

For this level of protection to occur, Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect should be sprayed onto the Coil, Filters, Fan and as much of the internals of A/C systems as possible and left to dry, not rinsed off.

Repeat this application every 30 days after you have cleaned the filters and allowed them to dry.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Any level of dilution of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect prior to use.
  • Application of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect to wet surfaces, (coils, filters etc.).
  • Failure to allow treated surfaces to dry prior to switching the A/C unit back on.
  • Failure to adequately clean the HVAC system prior to application of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect.
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach, either at the same time or at any time between applications of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect
  • Direct application of pesticides or other anti-fungal or anti-bacterial products, either at the same time or at any time between applications of Nuke™ Coil and Filter Protect
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control or higher than normal presence of heat, (above 30° C), or moisture.
'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of Nuke™ Mould Protect

Nuke™ Mould Protect offers up to 90 days protection against bacteria and mould growth.

For this level of protection to occur the surfaces to be treated should ideally steam cleaned first. As a minimum, any excessive build-up of contaminants should be brushed, wiped or vacuumed away and then sprayed with Nuke™ Mould Protect as the sole cleaning product and allowed to sit for 2 – 3 minutes before wiping the area clean with a clean damp or wet cloth. Surface should be allowed to dry and then Nuke™ Mould Protect should be reapplied and left to dry, not rinsed off.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Any level of dilution of the product prior to use.
  • Final application of the product is to a wet surface, rather than dry.
  • Failure to provide ongoing adequate ventilation to rooms housing treated surfaces.
  • Higher than normal presence of heat, (above 40° C), and/or moisture.
  • Failure to adequately clean the surface prior to final application of the product.
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Direct application of pesticides or other anti-fungal or anti-bacterial products, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control.
'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of Nuke™ Odour Control

Nuke™ Odour Control offers up to 7 days protection against odour causing bacteria. For this level of protection to occur the surfaces to be treated should be cleaned with Nuke™ ProClean or Nuke™ Clean and Protect as the sole cleaning product and then wiped clean with a clean damp cloth. Surface should be allowed to dry and then Nuke™ Odour Control should be applied and left to dry, not rinsed off.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Any level of dilution of the product prior to use.
  • Final application of the product is to a wet surface, rather than dry.
  • Failure to provide ongoing adequate ventilation to rooms housing treated surfaces.
  • Higher than normal presence of heat, (above 40° C), and/or moisture.
  • Failure to adequately clean the surface prior to final application of the product.
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Direct application of pesticides or other anti-fungal or anti-bacterial products, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control.

Also, please note that Nuke™ Odour Control will only prevent the return of odours on the actual treated surface, e.g. a pet mat or bed, it cannot protect against odours simply residing in the vicinity. As an example, a treated litter tray will protect against odour causing bacteria that come in direct contact with it but not against smells coming from faeces or urine sitting on top of litter, thus preventing contact with the tray itself.

'Unfair' Conditions that may affect the performance of ADS Nuke™

ADS Nuke™ offers up to 90 days protection against germs, bacteria, infectious surface-transfer diseases and mould growth.

For this level of protection to occur the surfaces to be treated should ideally be steam cleaned first. As a minimum, any excessive build-up of contaminants should be brushed, wiped or vacuumed away and then sprayed with Nuke™ ProClean as the sole cleaning product and allowed to sit for 2 – 3 minutes before wiping the area clean with a clean damp or wet cloth. Surface should be allowed to dry and then ADS Nuke™ is fogged onto surfaces using Mission Control™ Aerial Delivery System equipment and left to dry, not rinsed off.

Unfair conditions include:

  • The product is not used in accordance with the above instructions.
  • Excessive dilution of ADS Nuke™ prior to use.
  • Final application of the product is to a wet surface, rather than dry.
  • Failure to provide ongoing adequate ventilation to rooms housing treated surfaces.
  • Higher than normal presence of heat, (above 40° C), and/or moisture.
  • Failure to adequately clean the surface prior to final application of the product .
  • The use of other cleaning products, such as chlorine or bleach, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Direct application of pesticides or other anti-fungal or anti-bacterial products, either at the same time or at any time between applications of the product.
  • Acts of sabotage of the surface, whether deliberate or through negligence, e.g. submitting the surface to unsanitary operational conditions such as lack of vermin and pest control.

Please note that ADS Nuke™ will only prevent the return of bacteria, mould or odours on the actual treated surface, it cannot protect items simply residing in the vicinity, i.e. it will protect against bacteria that comes in direct contact with it but not against bacteria residing on any part of an item later placed onto the surface that does not come in contact with the surface itself. As an example, say a book was placed onto a treated surface, the area of the book that touches the surface will be protected but the rest of the book will not.
